Beth Israel Congregation Cemetery
The Beth Israel Cemetery Committee is pleased to
announce that construction of our Jewish Cemetery
has commenced and that we can now receive funds
from and assign plots to members of our
congregation and their families (both Jewish and
non-Jewish family members).
Plots are available to congregation members who have paid dues for the five consecutive years prior to the purchase of burial rights. This requirement may be satisfied through pre-payment at the time of the purchase of burial rights.
The price per burial space (including a donation
to the cemetery / Hevra Kadisha fund) is $750.00.
This pays for the right to be buried in the
cemetery and to have perpetual care of the burial
space performed by the City of Bath Department of
Parks and Cemeteries. The Synagogue controls and
distributes the burial rights for the burial spaces
located in the Jewish Cemetery even though the
actual ownership of the land occupied by the Jewish
Cemetery remains part of the Bath Municipal
Cemetery and is owned by the City of Bath. Burial
costs, which are not included in this price, are
set by the Director of the City of Bath Department
of Parks and Cemeteries and will be due at the time
of a funeral.
The Jewish Cemetery consists of 96 burial
spaces. For planning, assignment, and fundraising
purposes, it is our hope that you will carefully
consider now what your family's future need for
burial space will be and that you will purchase the
appropriate number of burial space rights.
