Beth Israel Renovation Project
April 24-August 21, 2006
|
In order to give
you an overview of what is happening in our
renovation project, we are posting
representative pictures as the process
continues. There have been a few surprises so
far. There were tin walls and wooden beadboard
wainscoting under the paneling. Unfortunately
nail holes and water had ruined them. There was
even a pass-through from the kitchen to the
function room. You can also see that there was
no insulation at all in the walls.
For years we had heard about a mikvah that was
used in the original building, but never knew
where it was. We discovered its location under
the floor of the bathroom off the kitchen. We
found the original pipes that supplied water to
it. |
